Relevant, moving and inspiring, the 11th edition of this highly anticipated festival will showcase the very best of contemporary German cinema. Screening from May 3 to 6 at Cinema Paradiso.

Friday nights in the City are set to spice up as the City of Perth launches the summer series of Twilight Hawkers Markets in Forrest Place.

Kicking off on Friday 28 October (Queen’s Birthday Public Holiday), the Markets will take place every Friday between 5pm – 8pm until March 2012, taking a short break for a few weeks over the Christmas period when other events will use the space.

Taking advantage our famous summer climate, the Twilight Hawkers Markets will offer visitors to the city the chance to meander through rows of market stalls sampling cuisine from around the globe including Indonesian satays, Spanish paella, Turkish gozlemes, Moroccan tagines and more.

Approaching its 23rd sensational year, the festival offers an ambitious national program over 5 weeks including 40+ films - action, romance, comedy, thrillers, children’s films, animation and documentaries - which have been commercially released in France the previous year. 

With more films, more screenings, more locations and more special events, this festival is set to be the biggest and best of the year!

As the grand culmination of four decades helming famed Théâtre des Bouffes du Nord, legendary director Peter Brook turns his hand to this comedic and adventurous tale with a light and effervescent touch. 

Mozart's enchanting music, at first delicate and tender, then playful and humorous, takes centre stage, as a talented ensemble of young singers led by a single pianist fill the score with new energy, humanity and colour.

This is raw, intimate operatic theatre at its very best.

In French and German with English surtitles.

Perth’s first full Fringe World Festival will feature over 150 show thanks to over 800 local and visiting artists from around the world, including: France, Germany, Spain, Italy and Brazil. 

The festival will kick off on January 26 and run until February 19, from a number of venues including the main hubs at The Treasury and Perth Town Hall in the Perth CBD, the Perth Cultural Centre hub and the City of Perth Comedy Central hub in Northbridge.  When you step through the doors, you will be transported back into the decadent 1920’s underground full of award-winning cabaret, comedy, burlesque, short performance pieces and musical acts from the world’s best fringe festivals.

All current enrolled Spanish students will receive free double passes to stunning new Spanish movie 'The Skin I Live In' from Pedro Almodovar.  These VIP advanced screenings will run from December 16 - 18 at Luna Leederville and Luna on SX.  

Ever since his wife was burned in a car crash, Dr. Robert Ledgard, an eminent plastic surgeon, has been interested in creating a new skin with which he could have saved her. After 12 years, he manages to cultivate a skin that is a real shield against every assault. In addition to years of study and experimentation, Robert needed a further three things: no scruples, an accomplice and a human guinea pig.

Learning a new language is so much easier when you are immersed.  Alas, it's a little difficult to dash off to the south of France from Australia to eat croissants and listen to the local accent for a month, but by using your French in real situations at home you can get a bit closer.  

Yoga en Francais in Perth is a blend of Vinyasa, Iyengar and partner yoga.  Classes run for a range of levels in Nedlands and Cottesloe and at other locations upon request.
